Rural Development Minister D Manikya Varaprasad on Friday stated that the outcome of by-elections would be a good lesson for the Congress party and government.
Talking to media persons at Assembly premises after the announcement of results, Manikya Varaprasad said that the party would find out reasons for its failure in the by-elections and would face the 2014 general elections with a revised strategy. If the Congress party fails to get alert over the by-elections' results, he said it would lose the 2014 general elections.
Stating that the YSR Congress party would be the main rival for the Congress in the 2014 elections, he said that the TDP has lost its identity in the State and people were not in a position to believe TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu anymore.
The minister called upon the party seniors to work in cooperative manner and work out a suitable strategy to win the 2014 elections by sinking differences among themselves and rectifying past mistakes. He said that he was ready to work to strengthen the party if the high command asks him to do so.
