Chiru challenges Jagan to prove dilution of YSR schemes

Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi on Monday challenged YSR Congress president and Kadapa MP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy to prove with substantial evidence that the government led by Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy diluted former chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s welfare schemes and programmes.

Talking to media persons while participating in a by-election campaign here, Chiranjeevi said that he would stop seeking votes from the people if Jagan proves his charges against the government that it diluted YSR's schemes. He said that government was committed to implement the welfare schemes started by YSR in letter and spirit despite the financial constraints.

Chiranjeevi asked Jagan to explain as to why he has colluded with TDP Chief N Chandrababu Naidu and Telangana Rashtra Samithi to destabilize the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. He alleged that Jagan has accumulated thousands of crores of wealth illegally by using corrupt methods and with the active support of criminals. He said the on-going investigation by the CBI would expose Jagan's involvement in corruption.

Stating that the State would face lot of problems if the people vote in favour of YSR Congress, he called upon the voters to exercise their franchise judiciously and support the Congress for a stable government. He called upon the youth to fight against corruption and teach a fitting lesson to YS Jagan group for unnecessarily causing by-elections with an eye on Chief Minister’s post.

Stating that Congress president Sonia Gandhi joined active politics five years after the death former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, he asked how could Jagan claim the Chief Minister's post within five minutes after the death of YSR.

Earlier, Chiranjeevi garlanded the photo of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi at Nayaknagar and Arvinda Nagar to mark his death anniversary and also participated in a road show. He recalled the services of Rajiv Gandhi for the nation, particularly in field of science and technology.
