Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Wednesday stated that the party would take collective responsibility for the defeat in the by-elections held in the seven Assembly segments in the State.
Talking to media persons at Gandhi Bhavan, Botsa attributed the defeat in the by-elections to party cadre not taking the government schemes and development programmes to the door steps of people. However, he said that the State Congress leaders would abide by whatever decision the High Command takes over the debacle of party in the by-elections.
He accused YS Jagan Mohan Reddy of spending 'illicit' money to ensure the victory of his party's candidate Nallapu Reddy Prasanna Kumar Reddy from Kovvur Assembly constituency.
Stating that the victory of Telangana Rashtra Samithi and YSR Congress was not permanent, he said that the people of respective constituencies would learn a lesson from the by-elections and elect Congress party candidates in next elections.
