Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana on Tuesday justified the nomination of four party leaders from the State for the Rajya Sabha.
Talking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party Office, he said that Choudhary community in the State was given representation in Rajya Sabha after a gap of 17 years with the nomination Renuka Choudhary. Similarly, Palwai Goverdhan Reddy, a senior leader from Telangana was nominated to Rajya Sabha in recognition of his services to the party, he said.
Responding to reports that minority communities were ignored while nominating to the Rajya Sabha, he termed media reports as baseless and said that the party never neglected Muslims and implemented many welfare schemes for their welfare.
Botsa said that the TDP has no moral right to criticize the Congress party as TDP president Chandrababu Naidu himself, who claims that his party was for common workers, nominated an industrialist to Rajya Sabha while neglecting the loyal workers.
The PCC chief reiterated that the government was ready to give its reply on any issue including the tainted ministers’ issue in the House and was ready for any kind of probe. Unlike Naidu, the Congress leaders would not move court seeking stay orders and they would face the investigation boldly, he said. In order to get political mileage, he alleged that Naidu was disrupting the House business and seeking resignation of ministers.
Responding to media reports that some white ration card holders own liquor shops and participated in liquor auctions in some parts of the State, Botsa said that he had wrote a letter to Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy seeking probe into the issue and for cancellation of the white ration cards.
