Telugu Desam MLA Devineni Umamaheswara Rao on Friday came down heavily on Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy for heading to New Delhi despite his government facing crisis in the State.
Talking to media persons at Assembly media point, Devineni said that the Chief Minister went to New Delhi to finalise the nominees for Rajya Sabha elections despite the fact that his government has received a major jolt after Supreme Court served notices to his ministers for their alleged involvement in issuing 26 controversial GOs. This clearly shows that the Chief Minister's lack of commitment towards governance and he has been resorting to methods that could divert the attention of the people, he said.
Devineni said that the Chief Minister should be more accountable to the people that to the party's high command. He asked as to why the government was still shielding the corrupt ministers. He said the government was wasting the precious time of House by not placing the controversial GOs before the House for discussion.
By shielding the tainted ministers, he said that the Government has been misusing its position and power. At least now, the government announces steps to place the GOs before the House and cooperate for running it smoothly, he said.
