Former minister and senior Congress  leader J C Diwakar Reddy on Tuesday found fault with the letter written by Pulivendula MLA Y S Vijayamma to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh appealing him to direct CBI to conduct impartial probe into mining and Emaar cases.

Talking to media persons at the Congress Legislature Party Office here, he took serious note of Vijayamma’s allegations of political conspiracy behind the CBI probe into the dealings of her son and Y S R Congress party president Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said the CBI was investigating the cases following the directions of the High Court and not harassing anybody unnecessarily.

As the family members of YSR were allegedly involved in the scam, the probing agency had started investigations and not dragging their names unnecessarily to court, he pointed out. “Even all the Cabinet members during the YSR regime will be held responsible for the decisions that took place during his stint”, he stated.

Since Emaar Properties came up much before the government was formed, he said, earlier governments too would be investigated. “If the investigation finds anybody involved in the scam, they will be jailed as per the sections”, he added.

In her letter to Prime Minister, Vijayamma had stated that CBI filed FIR against Jagan although he was never a minister either in the state or the centre governments. She added that CBI had been pressurising witnesses to give evidence against Jagan.
