Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna on Sunday hinted that he might contest the next elections from a seat in the north Andhra.

Talking to media persons after unveiling Telugu Desam Party founder president and his father N T Rama Rao’s statue at agency area Paderu as part of his two-day visit to the district, the actor said that north Andhra had always been a stronghold of TDP and the people in this region have supported NTR. While seeking similar support from the people, he reiterated that he would begin his career in the electoral politics from 2014 elections.

However, Balakrishna maintained that he was ready to contest from any seat in the State and the party would take a final decision on the same. He expressed confidence that the people of the State would vote the TDP to power in the next elections.

Expressing serious concern over the indiscriminate mining in the agency areas, Balakrishna stated that besides destroying the culture and traditions of Girijans, indiscriminate mining was also creating environmental imbalance. He demanded that the government cancel the permits granted for bauxite mining in agency areas.
