Speaker defends MLAs visit to agency areas

Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Tuesday stated that the elected representatives would know people’s problems only through direct interaction.

Talking to media persons after the second day visit to agency areas in the district, the Speaker, who heads the 83 member team, said the people’s representatives would get first hand information from tribals only if they interact with them by visiting their places.

The visit to agency area was aimed at resolving problems of tribals and in making policies for their uplift, he said.

PRP president K Chiranjeevi who called upon elected representatives asked them to work with commitment for the welfare of people.

Earlier, the Speaker and other MLAs participated in the conference on `Girijan Development Government Schemes’. Experts in the field addressed the conference and gave their suggestions for welfare of tribals.
