Nagam asks Naidu to clarify 'T' stand

Telangana Nagara Samithi president Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Monday asked Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu as to when he would visit New Delhi to make his stand clear on the creation of Telangana state.

Talking to media persons in the city, Nagam said that the TDP chief, who went to New Delhi to highlight farmers’ problems in the state in the Parliament, should also make efforts to raise the Telangana issue sincerely. If the Centre invites the Congress and TDP for the consultations over the issue, he said one member from party should present their views instead of sending two members from different regions. He said the Congress and TDP members should reach consensus on statehood issue before presenting their views before the Centre.

Nagam advised the elected representatives from Telangana region to either submit resignations afresh or stall the proceedings in the Parliament over the statehood issue. He also made it clear the elected representatives should not play games any more with lives of Telangana people over the statehood issue.

Hailing the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawathi’s move of passing a resolution in the Assembly for the division of state into four parts, he suggested Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy to take a cue from Mayawati and introduce a resolution for formation of Telangana in the winter session of Assembly. He warned the UPA Government of serious consequences if it fails to introduce a Telangana Bill in the winter session of Parliament.
