T employees vow to continue strike

The Joint Action Committees representing thousands of employees working with various departments in the Telangana region on Wednesday vowed to continue the Sakala Janula Samme, the general strike demanding statehood for the Telangana region.

In contrast to the decision taken by Singareni Colleries, RTC and education departments to withdraw the strike, several JACs have unanimously resolved to continue the strike. They include the employees associated with the TNGOs and NGOs. Similarly, the employees working with Revenue, Treasury, Pay and Accounts, Stamps and Registration and Panchayat Raj have also decided to continue the strike.

The Telangana employees' JACs have announced that they would not withdraw the strike until the Centre or at least Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy makes a clear announcement regarding the formation of Telangana state.

It may be mentioned that the Telangana employees working with many other departments including the Secretariat are still on strike.
