Governor denies sending report to the Centre

Governor Mr ESL Narasimhan has denied sending any report to the Centre on the present political situation in the State, especially in view of the general strike in the Telangana region.

In a brief interaction with the reporters here on Friday, the Governor has evaded questions relating to his visit to New Delhi or his likely meetings with the national leaders including Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh. However, he mentioned that he did not send any report to the Centre. It may be mentioned that the Centre has reportedly asked Mr Narasimhan to submit a status report on Telangana on October 8.

Besides Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, the Governor is also likely to meet Home Minister P Chidambaram, Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee and United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi.

Earlier, the Governor participated in the Srivari Chakrasnanam as part of Brahmotsavam celebrations. During the pooja, apparently due to drop in blood pressure, Mr Narsimhan fainted for a few moments. However, later talking to media persons he strongly condemned the media reports of him being unwell. He said he was completely fit and healthy and advised media not to broadcast misleading reports.
