Rajahmundry, July 21:-
Amidst high tension and tight security, Telugu Desam MLA from Kovvur Tv Rama Rao was shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail on Tuesday. As for the orders of Velpula Krishnamurthy, judge designated for CID cases the MLA was remanded to custody till August 3.
Right from the moment the Kovvur MLA was arrested on Monday till he was shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail today, the MLA and the TDP volunteers played a high drama.
After being arrested in Nidadavole in his residence by Criminal Investigation Department (CID) the MLA was remanded to judicial custody on charges of rape and murder. Then he was taken to Eluru where he complained of hyper tension and chest pain.
The TDP activists who staged a dharna protesting for the better treatment of the MLA, forced the officials to shift him to Vijayawada. As no cardiologist was available in Vijayawada the scene shifted to Guntur General Hospital. With the cardiologists ruling out any cardiac disorder, the ML A has been finally shifted to Rajahmundry Central Jail where he is resting his heels now.
