Former Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas on Tuesday advised the High Command not to prolong the decision on creating Telangana state.

Talking to media persons, Srinivas appealed to high command to find a solution to Telangana State issue soon as the delay might cost the party dearer. Stating that the general strike in the region affected all sectors badly apart from paralyzing administration in the region, he suggested Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana make all efforts towards to resolve the issue by discussing it with high command.

The former PCC chief said that the Chief Minister should also make efforts to prevail upon employees to withdraw their strike as it has been causing crores of rupees loss to State's exchequer. Admitting that the transport sector badly affected due to strike of RTC employees, he appealed to state government to hold consultations with the employees' to find a solution.

Stating that the December 9, 2009, statement of Union Home Minister P Chidambaram completely changed the situation in Telangana, he said the consequences could not be predicted if the Centre fails to honour the promise. He appealed to high command to announce decision on Telangana respecting the aspirations and sentiments of people soon and to remove uncertainty prevailed in the region.
