Senior Congress leaders from the Telangana region have threatened to destablise Kiran Kumar Reddy if the Centre fails to take a favourable decision on granting statehood for the region.
Talking to reporters after participating in the Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations here on Saturday, Congress MP Gutta Sukender Reddy said that the survival of state government would be in doubt if the Centre fails to decide on Telangana. He threatened of dire consequences if the government tries to foil the on-going general strike of Telangana employees.
Investments Minister Komatireddy Venkatreddy on Saturday warned the government that Telangana activists would seize all national highways if it fails to take a favourable decision on creation of Telangana by September end.
Unfurling national and Telangana flags at District Congress party office to mark Telangana Liberation Day, the Minister said that he would to submit his resignation letter directly to the Governor in October.
He also warned that he would not allow Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Pradesh Congress Committee president Botsa Satyanarayana and Congress leader K Chiranjeevi to move anywhere in Telangana region as they advocate united Andhra Pradesh.
