Congress Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao on Saturday challenged Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to come out with evidence to prove that YS Rajasekhara Reddy made contributions to the Congress high command.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan, Hanumantha Rao denied the allegations the CBI investigation against Jagan’s alleged illegal assets was an act of political vendetta. He said it was known to everyone that the CBI has launched investigations following the directives of the AP High Court. He said the Jagan group was making such allegations out of desperation.
The Congress MP said by making false and baseless allegations, Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to gain people’s sympathies. He hoped that the CBI would come with a comprehensive probe report and disclose the names of those who involved in his corruption. He also recalled how YSR gave mining permits at Bayyaram to his son-in-law Anil Kumar without taking Cabinet into confidence.
Hanumantha Rao also demanded detailed enquiry against the senior bureaucrats Parthasarathy and BP Acharya, as they helped YSR doing favours to Jagan’s investors by causing huge loss to the state’s exchequer.
