The Opposition, particularly Telugu Desam Party leaders are making baseless allegations on the implementation of Rajiv Arogyasri scheme, stated Arogyasri Minister Pithani Satyanarayana.
Giving details of the Arogyasri review meeting held with the officials concerned under the leadership of Chief Minister K Rosaiah to media persons on Thursday, the Minister said it was a scheme close to late chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s heart and wanted no lacuna in its implementation. Mr Satyanarayana said the government would release a white paper on the implementation of Arogyasri in the state to clear doubts of Opposition leaders.
It was decided to transfer an amount of Rs 70 crore --- Rs 44 crore from Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Rs 26 crore contributed by State government employees by donating their one day salary to the Arogyasri Trust in a couple of days, he added. Replying to a question about allegations of malpractices by corporate hospitals and misuse of the scheme, he said some complaints had been received and action initiated against the erring hospitals.
He said that the TDP has no moral right to question on the commitment of Arogyasri health insurance scheme, which provides quality medicare to poor. He said that the TDP has no knowledge on the health scheme, medical hospitals and healthcare to the poor as it had not implemented any scheme for the poor. He said that the officials were asked towards further strengthening the scheme in the districts.
