Praja Rajyam Party president K Chiranjeevi on Friday said that the rift between the Nara and Nandamuri families will leave Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu ‘homeless’ and force him to rejoin the Congress of which he was once a member.

“Thirty per cent of the blood flowing in Mr Naidu’s body is of the Congress,” Mr Chiranjeevi said. “The fight for the TDP president’s successor will lead to the Nandamuri family kicking out Mr Naidu from the party and he will have no option but to join the Congress,” the PRP chief said.

He also demanded to know how Mr Naidu could amass around 2,000 acres of land when he had only 2 acres at the time he joined politics. Mr Chiranjeevi also inadvertently admitted that the administration in the state has been paralysed due to ongoing campaigning for the Kadapa by-elections.

Mr Chiranjeevi told media persons during his electioneering on behalf of the Congress party candidates at Nandi Mandal in Kamalapuram constituency in Kadapa parliament segment that the administration has come to a grinding halt due to hunger for power of YSR Congress Party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.

The PRP chief stated that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy’s hunger for power has led him to resign and forced the Election Commission to conduct by-elections in the Kadapa constituency. With as many 17 Ministers and over 25 MLAs of the ruling party setting up camp in the district it is hard to disbelieve Mr Chiranjeevi’s words that administration has become paralysed in the state.

Mr Chiranjeevi stated that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had sent a few MLAs to him after the sudden demise of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to appeal to him to extend support to his bid of becoming the Chief Minister. The PRP chief added that the post of the Chief Minister was not a hereditary right of YSR family. “The Chief Minister’s post is not a ‘jagir’ of Mr Jaganmohan Reddy,” he said.

Expressing confidence that the Congress candidates will win the by-elections, the PRP chief said that the people of Kadapa would reject both Mr Chandrababu Naidu and Mr Jaganmohan Reddy for their corruption and teach a fitting lesson to them. He added that the BJP has not fielded its candidates in the elections as it had a secret understanding with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy.
