After days of confusing whether she was supporting former MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy or the Congress party, Budvel MLA Kamalamma on Friday broke her silence and said that she would campaign for Dr DL Ravindra Reddy in the by-polls for the Kadapa Lok Sabha seat.
Speaking to media persons at Congress Legislature Party office, after meeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at his Camp Office, Ms Kamalamma said that she had been friendly with Mr Jaganmohan Reddy due to her close attachment with former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
She also pointed out that she had never formally joined the YSR Congress Party at any time and vowed to continue in the Congress as a loyal and obedient worker. Ms Kamalamma also revealed that she planned to campaign for the Congress candidates D L Ravindra Reddy and Y S Vivekananda Reddy in the Kadapa and Pulivendula by-elections.
Reminding that she had won the Budvel Assembly seat on a Congress ticket, Ms Kamalamma made it clear that she never criticized the party or its leadership at any time.
She also revealed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had assured to develop her constituency by releasing more funds.
However, she also added that Mr Jaganmohan Reddy had never shown any bias towards her and treated all his supporters equally.
