Paving the way for his joining to Telangana Rashtra Samiti, Telugu Desam Party MLA from Banswada, Mr. Pocharam Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday faxed his resignation letter to TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu.
Mr. Reddy had announced in January that he would leave the TDP to fight for the self-respect of the people of Telangana. He resigned from the party primary membership and the MLA seat officially on Wednesday protesting the party chief's attitude over Telangana.
He will join the membership of Telangana Rashtra Samiti in a public meeting in Banswada in the presence of TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao today evening.
“I will continue the agitation for separate Telangana state formation after submitting my resignation to TDP” he said.
Mr. Reddy also stated that he had voted for TRS candidate Mohd Mahmood Ali in the Legislative Council elections violating the Whip issued by the TDP.
Mr. Reddy had earlier declared that he wanted to part ways with the TDP as the separate Telangana statehood demand would never be realized if it were left to the party. He had said that he was dissatisfied with the failure of TDP chief Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu for failing to make his party’s stand clear on Telangana state.
