An elated Telugu Desam Party MLA from Uravakonda, Payyavula Kesav on Wednesday claimed that the outcome of the Legislative Council elections from the Local Authorities Constituencies were a clear pointer that the people of the state have rejected the Congress due to the rampant prevailing corruption.
Talking to media persons at Assembly Media Point, the TDP MLA did not hide the fact that the internal squabbling and groupism in the Congress has cost the party dear and ultimately benefited the Telugu Desam Party in the Council elections.
Mr Keshav pointed out that while the TDP had earlier managed to win only one seat in the Council, its presence has increased to three now.
The senior MLA said that the election results clearly indicate that the Congress was losing its sheen due to groupism and internal squabbling. The Congress will bite dust and would be completely wiped out from the state soon, he predicted.
Mr Keshav also stated that the TDP has given a tough and healthy competition to both the Congress and the candidates backed by the YSR Congress Party formed by former Kadapa MP YS Jaganmohan Reddy.
This was despite the fact that the independents backed by Mr Jaganmohan Reddy trying to lure the voters through money power, the TDP MLA claimed. He further alleged that both the Congress and YSR Congress Party leader have looted the state by resorting to various illegal methods.
