Emphasising that Congress Mps from Telangana are committed to the introduction of separate statehood Bill in Parliament, Nizamabad MP Madhu Yaskhi Goud on Sunday stated that his party colleagues in the Lok Sabha would not drag their feet on the issue.
Talking to media persons at his residence at Banjara Hills, Mr Yaskhi Goud said that MPs would intensify their struggle for the introduction of a Telangana Bill Parliament by stalling proceedings in the House until the Centre gives in to their demand.
“The MPs will not drag their feet and ensure that the Centre expedites the process for Telangana state formation,” he stated.
Reacting on rumours that Centre had told bought time by lobbying with Telangana MPs to postpone the issue for May in the wake of elections to Assemblies in five states, Mr Yaskhi Goud said that this was not correct. He added that if the Centre resorts to delaying tactics, the MPs would intensify their agitation and submit resignations from their posts.
He however, accused that a section of MPs, mostly from Seemandhra regions, were obstructing the Telangana struggle.
The Nizamabad MP also opined that the government would have to make alternate arrangements for the conduct of Intermediate and CBSE exams in the wake of Millennium March called by the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee on March 10.
He called upon all pro-Telangana activists to make the Millennium March a grand success by participating in it widely.
