Bharatiya Janata Party state unit president G Kishen Reddy on Sunday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu was ‘changing hues like a chameleon’ in the context of the Telangana statehood demand.

Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Mr Kishen Reddy demanded that Mr Naidu stop changing his stance on the Telangana statehood issue and stick to one stand. He demanded that the TDP chief make his stand clear, especially since his party leaders from Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema were stalling the proceedings in the state Assembly on the bifurcation issue.

“Mr Naidu must control his MLAs from Seemandhra regions and allow the House to function normally,” the BJP leader demanded.

The TDP MLAs from Seemandhra region had paralysed the proceedings in the state Assembly following the boycott of the House by their party colleagues from Telangana and the other pro-Telangana parties like the TRS. Their main demand was that the Centre must adopt the sixth option given by the Justice BN Srikrishna Committee in its Report and not agree to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.

The BJP state unit president further said that all MPs of the National Democratic Alliance would vote in favour of the separate Telangana Bill in Parliament whenever it is introduced.

“All National Democratic Alliance MPs are unanimous in their resolve to extend support to the Telangana Bill in Parliament,” Mr Kishen Reddy stated.

Reiterating his party’s stand that smaller states would be easier to administer, the BJP leader called on the Centre to address Telangana statehood demand as early as possible.

He also said that the BJP’s stand on the issue was consistent and the only rule his party followed was ‘from Delhi to Galli (lane)’.
