Stating that the Centre is giving serious thought to the demands of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh, Former Chief Minister K Rosaiah said on Sunday that the decision, whether in favour of splitting the state or let it remain integrated, should have to be accepted by all.
Mr Rosaiah said that any decision taken by the Centre on the contentious issue will naturally go against the aspiration of either integrationists or those who favour bifurcation. "To ensure that peace prevails before, during and in the aftermath of such a momentous decision, all the parties concerned should mentally prepare to accept any decision on the issue," Mr Rosaiah said.
The Former Chief Minister added that the intensity of agitations in favour of Telangana have risen to the point that even the sanctity of the Assembly was put under threat. This, he said was not right.
The people and their representatives must remember that the decision on whether or not to split Andhra Pradesh is a major one and it is natural that the Centre is taking all possible aspects into consideration before taking a final decision, Mr Rosaiah said.
The Former Chief Minister said that "it is indeed true that a problem exists in Telangana region and the Centre was giving serious thought to solving it." He said that the people meanwhile must observe restraint while the Centre looks for ways to solve the problem.
Turning his attention to the fee reimbursement issue, Mr Rosaiah said that the government was trying its best to ensure that the careers of the students do not suffer. He also alleged that the opposition was taking advantage of the ‘technical problems’ being faced by the government to gain political mileage.
