Anam pulls up civic officials for neglecting Old City

Municipal Minister Anam Ramnarayan Reddy on Saturday ordered officials to solve the major problems faced by the people of Old-City.

Mr Reddy had a special meeting with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation and Water Works officials at Secretariat on orders of Chief Minister K Rosaiah and discussed about the major problems faced by the people of Old city. The Minister warned the officials that negligence regarding the solutions for problems of the old city will not tolerated.

The review meeting was held after people representatives from old city brought their problems to the notice of the Chief Minister.

Mr Reddy ordered officials to ensure proper supply of drinking, and also ensure that the complaints of low pressure were resolved. The Minister also directed officials of AP Transco to ensure quality and uninterrupted power supply to the old city.

The Minister also ordered GHMC officials to take up road repair works at the earliest and ensure that the massive potholes which dot the roads be repaired. He said that the officials must also ensure that the repair works are of good quality. He said that if needed, the GHMC must lay CC roads to ensure their durability.

Mr Annam also ordered officials to take a note on problems like drainage, mosquito control, cleanness and other problems of people.

Municipal Department General Secretary TS Apparao, GHMC Commissioner Sameer Sharma, Water Works MD Jagdeeshwar and others were present at the meeting.
