Set up fact finding panel, probe your allegations against me: Botsa to TDP

Panchayat Raj Minister Botsa Satyanarayana on Friday asked the Telugu Desam Party leaders to set up a fact finding committee to find proof against him to support their allegations of corruption.

Talking to media persons at CLP Office, Mr Satyanarayana stated he was ready for a probe into corruption charges leveled by the TDP leaders in his Vizianagaram district.

“If the committee is able to obtain proof of the charges, I will offer an unconditional apology for my ‘mistakes’. If the committee gives me a clean chit, I will ask for stopping of malicious campaign against me and appeal to them to save values in politics,” he said.

He revealed that he has written a letter to TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to stop the baseless and malicious campaign against him and asked Mr Naidu to maintain decorum in politics.

Mr Satyanarayana asked the former chief minister to constitute a fact finding team and also suggested the Names of Yerrannaidu, Ashoka Gajapathi Raju and Dadi Veerabhadra Rao, three of his most vocal critics, to probe into the charges they themselves had made.

The Minister said that the Cabinet was working in tandem, offering complete cooperation and coordination with Chief Minister K Rosaiah. He added that all the decisions taken by the Cabinet were collective.

When asked if the proposed Cabinet expansion was postponed due to pressure from Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s group, Mr Satyanarayana replied that the reshuffle was the prerogative of the Chief Minister and no one can dictate terms on such issue.

On the postponement of local body elections, the Minister said the elections were deferred to facilitate the enumeration drive of Backward Classes and for implementing 50 percent reservation to women in the elections.
