The political landscape in Telangana is abuzz with controversy following comments made by Congress MLA Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy in the Legislative Assembly. His statements about the alleged "purchase" of MLAs by the Congress party during "Operation Akarsh" have sparked a firestorm of reactions, leaving the Congress party scrambling to contain the damage.

Rajagopal Reddy's claims, which center around the varying amounts of money allegedly offered to MLAs switching sides, have fueled accusations of unethical practices and fueled tensions between the ruling BRS party and the Congress. BJP MP Raghunandan Rao seized upon the opportunity, labeling the Congress as a party that "purchases" MLAs, further escalating the situation.

The BRS party, particularly those MLAs who defected from the Congress in the past, are visibly irritated by Reddy's comments. They have filed complaints with the Speaker and the High Court, accusing Reddy of making false allegations. The MLAs, who initially claimed their defections were motivated by the development of their constituencies, find themselves under scrutiny in the wake of Reddy's pronouncements.

The Congress party, which had ambitious plans to recruit 26 MLAs as part of "Operation Akarsh," is facing a setback. While only 10 MLAs have officially joined so far, the party had targeted 14 MLAs from the Greater Hyderabad area. This effort has yielded only two new members: Khairatabad MLA Dan Nagender and Rajendranagar MLA Prakash Goud.

The remaining successful recruits include Gadwala MLA Bandla Krishnamohan Reddy, Banswad MLA Pocharam, Jagityala MLA Sanjay, Chevella MLA Kale Yadayah, Patan Cheru MLA Mahipal Reddy, and Bhadrachalam MLA Venkataravu.

The credibility of "Operation Akarsh" has been shaken by Reddy's comments, with whispers circulating about his motives for making these allegations. Some speculate that he may be attempting to derail the Congress' efforts to further expand their ranks.

As the political landscape in Telangana continues to evolve, the implications of Rajagopal Reddy's comments and the future of "Operation Akarsh" remain to be seen.
