No ulterior motive behind Martyrs Convention : Ponnam

Reiterating that the Congress High Command was in favour of formation of Telangana state, Telangana Congress MPs Forum convener Ponnam Prabhakar on Friday stated that there was no ulterior motive behind organizing Martyrs Convention in Karimnagar on October 2.

Talking to media persons after releasing the Martyrs Convention posters, Mr Prabhakar said that the convention was aimed to dispense financial assistance of Rs one lakh to victims, who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana.

The conference will prove that the Congress was committed to the formation of Telangana state formation based on the report submitted by the Justice Srikrishna Commission, he stated.

Mr Prabhakar said the Congress party will take all measures for extending moral and financial support for those who laid down their lives for the cause of Telangana.
