Since the inception of the BRS, only four leaders, including Kcr, have been prominent within the party. This trend continued even after the party transitioned from a movement to a political powerhouse, maintaining its dominance for a decade. However, recent debates suggest that the influence of these four leaders may have contributed to the party's defeat in the previous assembly election.
The departure of Kcr's son K. T. Rama Rao, daughter K. Kavitha, nephew T. Harish Rao, and other close relatives, such as Joginapalli Santosh, following the party's loss, has raised concerns among party members. While they were in power, their decisions were unquestioned, and they oversaw all aspects of Kcr's administration. However, their actions are now being scrutinized in light of the party's recent electoral setback.
Kcr himself has been defensive since the defeat, unable even to attend assembly meetings. The Congress has been quick to criticize his absence, suggesting that he is avoiding facing Revanth Reddy's allegations. Harish Rao's previously influential role in the party has diminished, and Kavitha is managing her affairs independently, seemingly under pressure from an ED investigation into a liquor scam in Delhi.
There are also rumors of discontent within the party, particularly regarding Santosh's failure to secure a second term in the Rajya Sabha. Despite his significant contributions over the past decade, Santosh has distanced himself from the party since the Rajya Sabha election. Kcr appears uninterested in resolving these internal conflicts, which could impact the party's performance in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
