Tollywood biggies to meet Komati Reddy Venkat Reddy. Prominent filmmakers are gearing up for an upcoming meeting with Telangana Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy to discuss crucial matters. The initiative, led by leading producer Sunil Narang, who also serves as the President of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce, is set to begin with a courtesy visit next week. The primary agenda includes a plea for the introduction of a single-window clearance system for shooting permissions at government locations.

Sunil Narang emphasizes the significance of a streamlined process, stating, "We are currently facing challenges obtaining permissions, and a single window system would be immensely beneficial for both the government and filmmakers. It would not only simplify the process but also contribute to revenue generation for the government, creating a mutually advantageous scenario."

According to industry insiders, Dil Raju, producer and President of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce, is also planning a courtesy visit to the minister. The united front aims to address industry concerns and collaborate on solutions for a more conducive filmmaking environment in Telangana.

Additionally, industry representatives are seeking industry status for the Telugu film industry, a long-standing demand. If granted, this status could facilitate access to bank loans at lower interest rates and result in a reduction of power charges from Rs 7 to Rs 3 per unit, offering financial relief to stakeholders.

Amidst the pandemic challenges, single theatres faced the burden of substantial fees, despite negligible footfalls. The stakeholders are keen to discuss the possibility of fee reductions or exemptions to alleviate the financial strain on these establishments.

This collaborative effort between industry leaders and government officials reflects a commitment to fostering a thriving film industry in Telangana, addressing key concerns, and creating a conducive environment for filmmakers, exhibitors, and distributors alike.
