Pasupuleti Venkata Bangarraju, professionally known as Krishna Vamsi after joining as assistant to renowned filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma. Krishna Vamsi has made a sensational debut into Tollywood and gave more shock to everyone in the industry by choosing controversial subject for his second film. Through his course of his career Krishna Vamsi keeps surprising everyone be choosing different genres and made them in a unique and natural manner. 

Krishna Vamsi made his directorial debut with RGV production along with Amitabh Bachchan Corporation Ltd, film titled Gulabi starring Chakravarthy and Maheshwari. The film was based on real life story of Ameena in Hyderabad back then. Krishna Vamsi's style is heavily influenced by Ram Gopal Varma's style but showed his mark in his first film itself.

Then as his second film Krishna Vamsi directed Ninne Pelladatha with Nagarjuna and Tabu in lead roles. The film was made as a love and family drama became a trendsetter in love and family dramas. Ninne Pelladatha became an evergreen hit and catapulted his status as a director. After Ninne Pelladatha Krishna Vamsi is flooded with offers from big heroes. But, he chose to make Sindhooram with relatively new comers Brahmaji and RaviTeja in lead roles. The film discussed about the war between police and naxals. His both films Ninne Pelladatha and Sindhooram won National Awards.

Krishna Vamsi made Anthahpuram with Soundary, Prakash Raj and Sai Kumar. The film is about faction and became a cult hit with Jagapathi Babu doing a memorable role in the film. It was later remade in Hindi with Shahrukh Khan, Karishma Kapoor and Nana Patekar. He made Samudram with Jagapathi Babu and Murari with Mahesh Babu which became a blockbuster. His patriotic film Khadgam became sensational hit. 

Then he made films like Sri Anjaneyam, Chakram, Danger, Rakhi, Chandamama, Sasirekha Parinayam, Mahatma, Mogudu, Paisa, Govindudu Andarivadele, Nakshatram and recently Rangamarthanda. Among these there are hits, Superhits and failures. But, Krishna Vamsi left an indelible mark as a filmmaker among the Telugu audiences.
