Indian Cinema is going global with its promotions. For the first time an Indian Film, Kalki2898AD AKA Project K is making its debut at one of the biggest events of Hollywood, Comic-Con. Makers planned that the entire cast to attend the prestigious event. Kamal Haasan and Prabhas were already there in San Diego where Comic-Con takes place. Deepika Padukone is also expected to attend the event where the glimpse is released. But, Deepika didn't make it to the event due to an unavoidable reason.
Due to the ongoing historic strike in Hollywood, Deepika Padukone, who is a member of SAG-AFTRA, will not attend the San Diego Comic-Con. Because of the SAG-AFTRA strike, the union has specified that actors cannot provide promotional or publicity services.
Meanwhile, the strike was announced by the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) as the union failed to reach a new labor agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers. Previously, Priyanka Chopra had also shared a post on social media to show solidarity.
Deepika was a member and did a big Hollywood film XXX Return Of Xander Cage with Vin Diesel in 2017. So, she won't be attending the event as SAG-AFTRA member. The upcoming Nag Ashwin directorial also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Kamal Haasan, and Disha Patani in important roles. The movie's first glimpse is unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con today.
