Ponniyin Selvan II reaches another milestone. Mani Ratnam's epic saga Ponniyin Selvan II reached another milestone when it crossed Rs 300crs collections across the world. The film despite low buzz in other languages is going great guns in the Tamil version.

Tamil movie lovers owned the film and are showering immense love and appreciation on the film. It is known that the film's first part Ponniyin Selvan I became the highest-grossing Tamil film. The film is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's novel Ponniyin Selvan. Mani Ratnam braved all the odds to come up with the film on celluloid when many stalwarts like MGR and Kamal Haasan tried to come up with the project but backed off due to budget constraints.

The film highlighted the achievements and valor of Raja Raja Chola and the film's music is scored by Rahman. The film starred  Vikram,Aishwarya Rai,Jayam Ravi,Karthi,Trisha,Aishwaya Lekshmi,Shobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu,Sarathkumar,Vikram Prabhu,Jayaram,Prakash Raj,Rahman,Parthiban in important roles.
