Srirangam Srinivasa Rao, fondly known as Sri Sri is a poet of modern Telugu literature. His anthology Maha Prasthanam is a landmark in Telugu poetry. His word ignites fire and evoked voice against social indifferences. He is the first poet who use usual language to address contemporary issues in a meter which is easily understandable by common man.
He started writing songs for cinema and became screen writer too. He was one of the best film songwriters in India, he has penned lyrics for over 1000 soundtracks in Telugu. He is the first national award winner as lyricist in Telugu with Telugu Veera Levara song in Superstar Krishna starrer Alluri Seetaramaraju.
With Maha Prasthanam he introduced free verse through his socially concerned commentry in poetry. He always tried to instigate inequalities and societal no rational norms with his poetry and songs. He also won Nandi Award and Sahithya Academy Award.
