Why is Samantha tear struck?

Samantha who is of late not seen on screen, finally made her public appearance for the trailer launch of her mythological entertainer Shaakuntalam directed by Gunasekhar. Samantha at the trailer launch turned emotional. She said “No matter how many struggles I face in life, one thing won’t change. That’s how much I love cinema and cinema loves me back. I strongly believe that this love will grow manifold with Shaakuntalam."

Earlier Samantha has been spotted at the Mumbai airport and she is seen carrying a jap mala and seen chanting verses. Samantha has been suffering from autoimmune disease and has been taking treatment for the same.

Shaakuntalam directed by Gunasekhar is releasing on 17 February 2023. The film stars Dev Mohan in the lead role while Mohan Babu, Aditi Balan, Prakash Raj, Ananya Nagalla,Gautami,Kabir Bedi, Madhubala, Kabir Duhan Singh are playing important roles. Mani Sharma scored the music for the film.
