RRR Registers The Biggest Openings In Japan

After Hollywood, Rrr wave has hit Japan. The action spectacle is released on October 21st in Japan and entire team is currently in Japan to promote the film. We first heard about Japanese market back when Superstar Rajinikanth's Muthu made a fortune there. There were even fan club's for Rajini in Japan. After Rajini recently Baahubali was well received by Japanese audience.

Here are the highest grossing Indian films at the Japanese box-office,

Mutthu - 400M Yen ($3.06M) 

Baahubali 2 - 300M Yen ($2.28M)

Baahubali - 75M Yen ($500K)

Saaho - 35M Yen ($235K)

Magadheera - 16M Yen ($106K)

On its first day, Rrr grossed an est. 18M Yen ($120K) in Japan which is the highest opening for an Indian film. Trade is expecting the 3-day weekend gross to be 55-60M Yen ($360-400K). Considering the footfalls also, Rrr Registers close to 8000 where the next highest is with Baahubali 2 around 1400 and Dangal around 1300 on day 1. This gives a picture about how big Rrr scored. Japan is a long run market depending on the word of mouth. As Rrr got huge hype surrounding it, we can see more records from Japan in the near future.
