Story Review

Adithya (Aadi Saikumar) realizes his dream of his late father seeing him as police when his uncle gets him a job as a SI. He gets attracted to a beautiful girl Haanika (Darshana Bhanik), a software engineer. Even as Aditya is enjoying his love life with Haanika, he gets entangled with the mysterious robbery and also the murder of the dreaded don Rawat (Anand Chakrapani)'s brother Dadu. As the investigation takes a new turn with the entry of the new boss Vihan Varma (Kaushal Manda), Adithya finds out shocking secrets related to his past. Artists, Technicians Review

Director GB. Krishna tried to end the flop streak of Aadi with a unique thriller. He started off the narration in an interesting and routine manner but the silly scenes that follow, evaporate the interest of the viewers. The way Aadi and his fellow cops behave and the love track between Aadi and Darshana Banik test the patience. In between the mystery, murders generate little interest and as the story heads towards the interval bang, the curiosity levels increase. The interval block ends in a perfect manner paving way for the racy second half.

However director Krishna after revealing the real twist, the disorder of Aadi, everything turns out to be routine and monotonous. He ran out of ideas after the twist is revealed and from then on it turns out to be a tedious journey to the climax. The climax is planned in a silly and amateurish way. Krishna tried to come up with an interesting story but failed to turn it strong with the screenplay and direction. He should have worked on them before taking the project forward as there are many unnecessary scenes in the film.

Aadi Sai Kumar just like his sleeping disorder sleepwalked in his role. There is nothing much for him to do in his role and he sported a regular routine look and delivered dialogues as if he is just passing through the motions. He looked lethargic and lacked the energy to elevate the scenes with his performance. He came with similar expressions and emotions making people wonder for how long he will come with the same emotions and expressions. Darshana Banik looked beautiful and gorgeous and she got a limited screen presence.

Bigg Boss fame Kaushal Manda performed well and at times he dominated Aadi with his screen presence. He carried himself well on the screen and made an impact as a police officer. Aamani, Satyam Rajesh, Tagubotu Ramesh, and Prithviraj played the roles accordingly. Anand Chakrapani who played the role of the villain did well within his limits.

Suresh Bobbili's music is jusk ok. He failed to elevate the scenes with his BGM. His background score turned out to be routine. Cinematography of Satish Muthyala is ok. Editing of Amar Reddy left a lot to be desired. Production values are ok.

Aadi Sai Kumar tried to block the minds of movie lovers with his film Black teaming with the director GB.Krishna.However, insipid story, lackluster screenplay, and direction, and tepid performances from the cast and crew turned the film into a disaster. Taking into consideration all the above points, CJ goes with a 1.5 rating for Black.
