Is Bollywood Proud, South Arrogant?

Ever since the sensations of Baahubali, KGF, RRR, Pushpa, etc, Bollywood celebrities when asked about the changing phenomenon and the success of south films and starring in south films, said that it was just a passing phase and one hit from Bollywood will change the entire situation. Stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, John Abraham, Akshay Kumar, and Nawazuddin Siddique are in denial mode and few of them even came with the statements that they haven't even watched the south films and will not star in south films.

In the process, they are forgetting the fact that since the inception of Indian cinema, South filmmakers, south stars and directors, and producers set a trend shocking Bollywood. When Bollywood celebrities John Abraham, Abhishek Bachchan, and Nawazuddin Sidduqie went on record and said that they will never star in south films, the entire media hailed that they are proud of their industry and their language.

But the same media, went hammer and tongs and blasted Kicha Sudeep when he expressed his happiness on the sensation of KGF and Kannada films and when Mahesh Bau said Bollywood cannot afford him and he is happy doing Telugu films. The media branded Kicha Sudeep and Mahesh Babu as arrogant unlike John Abraham, and Nawazuddin Siddue whom they branded as proud people having self-respect.

This perception of Bollywood and south stars by the media is shocking all. In fact, while south filmmakers are releasing their films dubbing in various languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, etc, Bollywood stars are releasing only in Hindi and claim that they are making pan India films. In fact as Ram Gopal Varma said, Bollywood stars should prove their mettle by releasing their films dubbing in various languages along with Hindi before they boast of making pan India films.

North people are questioning why south makers when they are so proud of their industry are releasing their films in Hindi and the same question was posed by Ajay Devgn. This shows that Bollywood stars are not keen to dare and take risks. South stars are daring and taking risks in other languages and proving their mettle. This shows that the perception that Bollywood is proud and south stars are arrogant is a myth and it is busted completely.
