Artists, Technicians Review

Director Vignesh Sivan tried to entertain movie lovers with a hilarious triangular love story. Though the premise is good, he failed in his execution. Everything turned bland as many films came earlier with the same concept. The entire first half ended in giving immense torture to the viewers with dragging scenes and silly dialogues. Into the second half, people get little relief as few scenes between Vijay Sethupathi, Samantha and Nayanathara came out well. When one was about to feel that the second half was a tad better, it once again turns into unending torture. Finally, the film drags to come to an end bringing an end to the misery of the movie lovers.

Vignesh Sivan only concentrated on highlighting the glamor of mostly Samantha and to some extent his girlfriend Nayanathara and in the process failed to highlight the disorder of Vijay Sethupathi. The scenes showing his disorder turned out to be irritating. even the so-called emotions and sentiment scenes turned out to be artificial.

Vijay Sethupathi slipped into the role effortlessly. He showed different variations accordingly highlighting his problems, and disorder and even evoked laughter when he was asked to choose between Samantha and Nayanathara. Vijay Sethupathi elevated a few of the scenes with his dialogues and expressions. Nayanathara performed well as a middle-class girl and she is seen mostly in sarees. Samantha is shown as a high-end girl and seen wearing posh outfits and indulging in glamor treat. All the three did justice to their roles. Cricketer Sreesanth is irritated on the screen and so did the other cast who are unknown to the Telugu viewers.

Anirudh Ravichander who is known for hit albums failed miserably with his music and background music. The cinematography is ok and the editing left a lot to be desired.

Advantages

Vijay Sethupathi's performance

Samantha and Nayanathara's glamor

Disadvantages

Routine story

Screenplay, Direction

Editing

Illogical scenes

Rating Analysis

Vignesh Sivan had the stars like Samantha, Nayanathara, and Vignesh Sivan. However, he failed to utilize their acting potential to the fullest. He failed with his story, screenplay, and direction and despite the trio's best efforts, the film fail to take off and the entire blame lies on Vignesh Sivan. Considering all these points, CJ goes with a 1.5 rating to Kanmani Rambo Khatija.
