Amir Khan springs divorce surprise

Mister perfectionist Amir Khan sprang a surprise today. He announced divorce with his wife Kiran Rao signalling the break-up of their marriage after 15 years. Amir Khan and Kiran Rao issued a joint statement saying still they will continue their relationship as an extended family.

In the statement they said “We will also continue to work as collaborators on films, Paani Foundation, and other projects that we feel passionate about,” . Amir Khan and Kiran Rao meet for the first time in the sets of Lagaan in 2001 and fell in love and got married in December 2005. They were blessed with a son Azad Rao Khan in December 2011.

Amir Khan earlier married Reena Dutta and they were blessed with two children -- son Junaid Khan and daughter Ira Khan. Amir Khan is currently busy with Lal Singh Chachadda , an official remake of Hollywood hit Forrest Gump which is produced by Kiran Rao.
