Jathi Ratnalu Review, What’s Behind?

Mahanati and Yevade Subramanyam fame Nag Ashwin ventures into production with Jathi Ratnalu starring Naveen Polisetty who is in good form with back to back hits alongside Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna which is the best comedy jodi of late in Tollywood. It’s a reintroduction for director Anudeep KV who made directorial debut with Pittagoda. The small time film is making big noise like a star hero film, thanks to massive promotions and intriguing promotional material. Let’s see whether the film is as pleasing as the promos.

Jathi Ratnalu Story Review:

Srikanth (Naveen Polishetty) and his friends Ravi, Sekhar (Priyadarshi, Rahul Ramakrishna) are useless tapori batch in Jogipet travel all the way to Hyderabad to earn respect. While Srikanth falls for neighbor Chitti (Faria), other resident in the apartment Political Minister Chanakya (Murali Sharma)’s murder attempt lands all three in trouble. This also happens to be the last case for judge (Brahmanandam), how Naveen and co proved their innocence is rest of logicless laughter riot.

Jathi Ratnalu Artists, Technicians Review:

To mention in brief, storyline from Anudeep sounds very regular with a village batch landing in city, face hurdles aside with love story. What makes different is the way Anudeep, Samar and Nag Ashwin expanded, treated the story with comic episodes spread evenly. In fact, there are plenty of one-liners which leave us in splits. Crucial court room and crime cracking scenes are direct satire on serious crime dramas. In that case, dialogue writer in Anudeep has to be appreciated for all the panache shown. Siddham Manohar’s camera work stayed true to the concept, Abhinav Danda’s editing should have been little sharper in second half. Chitti song from Radhaan and unneeded background elevation score ripened more fun. Production standards from Swapna Cinema are intact.

About artists, Naveen Polishetty single handedly stole the show with his flexible body language and impeccable comic timing. It’s the ease at getting into the skin of Ladies Emporium Srikanth character will help him grow big in coming days. Well supported by Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna, never the film dropped down in tempo. Pure Telangana slang or say Jogipet slang gelled well. Faris too looked fresh. Tanikella, Vennela Kishore, Naresh, Brahmanandam played their parts.

Jathi Ratnalu Review Rating Analysis:

To start with, Jathi Ratnalu will fulfill the comic thirst of Telugu audience from long. There’s no out of the world story, there’s no emotion or drama or sentiment… Jathi Ratnalu is purely stupid, illogical comedy will take you to hell and heaven. Anudeep, Nag Ashwin have done all the home work to offer what viewers ask for. Though, the film might appeal more to youth public, there’s definitely something for everyone to enjoy the fun ride.

First half starts directly detailing the mindless acts of the trio in Jogipet. To underline, Keerthy Suresh sparks off new interest which all ends with a big comic punch. Rayal Villa’s Annapurna Studios, Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, Ramanaidu Studios episode clicked. Romance between Faria, Naveen is fresh. In parallel, the political track of Murali Sharama, Giri Babu and Brahmaji went well. As time comes for the trio’s track to collide with Murali Sharma, it’s interval with a court scene.

Post interval, tempo of the film and punches too slow down. Then the most awaited court episode where Naveen just tore apart with some mindless dialogues to prove innocence lifted the film to new high. Climax is also handled decently as we come out of theater with a smile remembering B Com lo Physics episode.

In total, Jathi Ratnalu is a laughter riot. Keep your brains at vehicle parking space and enter the theaters. While Naveen Polishetty is the major attraction, Nag Ashwin and Anudeep’s efforts also need to be highlighted. If you are looking for laugh out loud film in recent times, try this one. CJ goes with 3 stars.
