When Nagarjuna Refused Sridevi

No actress in Indian film industry got the stardom and fan following like yesteryear actress Sridevi. One needs not to explain the craze for Sridevi during the 80s and 90s. Many star heroes used to compete with each other to romance Sridevi on screen. 

Under these circumstances, King Nagarjuna made a shocking revelation that he had his own reservations romancing Sridevi. He said when his makers planned to rope in Sridevi opposite him in Aakhari Poratam; he tried to stop them from doing so. 

Recollecting the incident, Nagarjuna said when he did Aakhari Poratam under Vyjayanti Movies banner; he didn’t have that star image and in fact faced huge criticism for his previous films. When Ashwini Dutt informed him that Sridevi was the heroine, he had doubts as to what recognition he will get if such star actress features opposite him. 

Nagarjuna then told Dutt not to cast her but however Dutt sat in front of his dad Nageswara Rao and both tried to convince him. He said his dad told him, experienced persons like Aswini Dutt will teach lot of new things and thus he accepted to romance Sridevi.
