Why did Shekhar select Rana for Leader?

Maverick Director Shekhar Kammula is all set to join the top league of commercial directors from 19th of this month as his most awaited ‘Leader’ is to release on the day. One may doubt initially that, why not Rana a hero from star family be launched with a love story rather than a concept and message based movie?

Rana gives you the best answer, “There is no guarantee that a debutant may strike gold with a love story or a message oriented story. What you need to do is just work hard for any kind of story; either it may be love story or a story with message.”

Rana even said that, he tried to impress director Shekhar Kammula by his dancing and action skills for which he laughed and said, ‘I don’t need all these skills, you are already passed in my test. I have seen you for the first time at ISB where you delivered a good speech with confidence. That is what I needed and you are into Leader.’

So, Shekhar Kammula has selected Rana for Leader role (Arjun Prasad) just based on his speaking abilities and body language which are core assets of a politician’s success.
