The story of Gauthamiputhra Satakarni takes us back to Telugu roots exploring the glory of Satavahanas, the early ancient dynasty which unified entire South Indian into one kingdom. Such a prestigious subject picked for Nandamuri Balakrishna’s 100th film surely made entire Telugu fraternity feel proud. Director Krissh has to be appreciated for touching such meticulous subjects and giving them a cinematic touch.
Paradoxically, a pure Telugu film is having its shoot and music sittings planned on foreign soil. Yes, music director Devi Sri Prasad is composing the tunes for Gauthamiputhra Satakarni by sitting in New York. None other than DSP shared this news by himself. As the summer season is peaking up in Hyderabad, looks like DSP went to New York for a weather change.
On other side, director Krissh is also planning GS first schedule in Morocco to be commenced from May first week. Reports say, they might shoot few war sequences in this one month schedule. One wonders on why our Telugu story is more inclined towards foreign locations? Shooting in Karimnagar or Guntur districts could have added more authenticity bringing in much needed nativity factor.
