Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan are top stars of Indian cinema. Every film from them will obviously open to thunderous opening collections. Same happened to Salman Khan’s ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ released in this year. Finally, when it came to last few days of this old year, Shah Rukh arrived as ‘Dilwale’ in his old romantic company of Kajol, directed by Rohit Shetty.
As per the official trade reports, ‘Dilwale’ raked Rs.21 Crores on day one (that is Friday) within the domestic market. In view of protests in various places and cancellation of many shows, these are very good numbers. In parallel, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ made Rs.12.80 Crores on day one which is again just an average figure.
Whatsoever, ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ with Rs. 40 Crores and ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ with Rs.27.25 Crores still stood as highest opening films in Bollywood for this year. Shah Rukh Khan ‘Dilwale’ stood in third place unable to beat either of Sallu Bhai records.
