'Mayuri' Improving Day By Day!

Market for female oriented or heroine centric films is slowly increasing. After Vijayashanti, thanks to the entry of heroines like Charmi, Anushka who took the momentum forward and now talented Nayanathara is also cruising along on the same track. Although Nayan’s previous outing with ‘Anamika’ wasn’t appreciated at Box Office, now she is on a bang with latest flick ‘Mayuri.’

The original Tamil version of ‘Maya’ and Telugu ‘Mayuri’ are slowly grabbing the interest, said a Tamil source. In fact, horror is rated one of the safest genre and when a director can handle the concept with adept knowledge on how to chill the audience spine, rest is only minting money at ticket counters.

Director Ashwin Saravanan has showed a new face of horror and thrills with ‘Mayuri.’ The movie has in fact opened to poor response at theaters with low turn outs on festival day. However, the positive reviews and mouth talk from many corners improved the excitement. As per a report, ‘Maya’ grossed Rs. 6+ Crores alone in Tamil Nadu and Telugu version ‘Mayur’ is also near to the same number. For a film made on meager budget with good technicalities, this is a battle well won.
