Sudheer Varma has firmly established the trend of crime comedy in Tollywood with two entertaining films of ‘Swamy Rara’ and ‘Dohchay.’ The second done having released yesterday in theaters started to a decent response from both critics and general audience. Sudheer Varma’s selection of two back to back crime based films has become a topic of discussion in film circles. However, the young and talented director from Bhimavaram has a strong reason behind.
‘There is no perfect reason for me to attempt crime subjects. As my first film gave me enough of recognition, Naga Chaitanya gave me the freedom to pick the subject. When I thought ‘Dohchay’ would suit for Chaitanya’s body language, I developed it and our producer, hero too liked it.
There are lot many inspirations in designing the heist episodes. We learn and understand the techniques from other movies which we see. BBC channel regularly telecasts the documentary episodes with real CC TV footage of crimes and robberies. I watch lot of such stuff and they served a great deal of inspiration in doing these two films,’ Sudheer Varma said.
