Tamil director Bala, the man known for pure nativity filled narration of story in the form of movie has proved yet aagin successful with the same formula. Like 'Sethu, Pithamagan and Nan Kaduval,' here comes the new release of 'Paradesi' with Atharva Murali, Vedika and Dhansika in leads. Produced and directed by Bala, there was high criticism targeted at this talented film maker for showing saddistic attitude towards the actors by physcially beating them to grab pure emotions. Amidst high excitement, 'Paradesi' released yesterday in Tamil Nadu has secured stunning ratings from critics and no where less than 3.5 or 4 stars.
Based on lives and struggles of tea-plantation Indian labor working under Britishers in pre-independent era, Bala is heard to have extracted realisitc perfomrances exposing their slavery. Set in 1939 backdrop, cinematographer Chezhiyan is winning all the acclaims for capturing the beauty of tea estates in South India along with raw emotions of characters. At a time when Tollywood is reeling under commercial formula with low success rate (this week 100% flops), Kollywood is experimenting on diverse subjects and is gaining the National wide media focus. Finally, 'Paradesi' is one more film from Bala ready to run away with many National Awards.
