Sankranthi films in doubt

A lot was expected during Sankranthi this year. As many as six films were originally lined up for release during the festival season. Now as the pongal festival draws closer the news on the film front is not that encouraging. At least three of the original six films that were planned for release have now been postponed.
 
Ravi Teja’s Nippu was slated for release on January 13 after Mahesh Babu’s The Businessman on January 11 and Venkatesh’s Bodyguard on January 12. Nippu will now hit the screens only in February. Sunil’s Poolarangadu was to hit the screens on January 14 but as of now the exact release date has not yet been finalized. Shekar Kammula opted out of the Sankranthi race some time back and the film Life is Beautiful may hit the screens only in February.
