Hyderabad, Oct 6: The Chief Minister, K Rosaiah, on Tuesday directed the officials concerned to intensify rescue and relief operations in Flood hit districts as water receding in many parts of Krishna and Tungabhadra river basin.He convened a teleconference with District Collectors and Revenue officials to review the Flood situation in the state from the Secretariat.He directed them to intensify rescue and relief operations in Flood-hit areas and provide necessary facilities and food packets for victims in rehabilitation centres.He asked the district collectors to be vigilant and evacuate people from low-lying areas as massive Flood water inundates their houses.
He told officials not to show any negligence in providing relief materials to the Flood victims.He asked the fire department officials to remove silt water from the Flood affected areas to pave way for shifting Flood victims to their houses.The death toll in Floods has reached 58 and it may go up further, he explained.He directed the health department officials to special medical camps in Flood ravaged districts to prevent water-borne and contagious diseases.
