'Sultan' arrest warrants to Rajini family

Latha Rajinikanth (wife of Rajinikanth) and Soundarya were served with a bail able arrest warrant by the Saidapet Magistrate Court in Chennai yesterday on a cheque bounce case. This is in regard to the case filed by financier Sumarchand Bafna who financed Rs. 20 Lakhs to Soundarya on the movie ‘Sultan the Warrior’ which was shelved. 

Although Rajinikanth cleared all debts related to ‘Sultan’ before Soundarya’s marriage which happened recently, Sumarchand’s loan went unnoticed. After repeated legal complaints, Latha and Soundarya issued cheques which were dishonored by the bank following inadequate amount in their accounts. Sumarchand immediately filed a petition on 9th of the month seeking the arrest of mother and daughter.

Immediately Rajini entered the scene and cleared the debts through a DD and the complaint was taken back. Rajini’s family blames it on director Venkat Prabhu (Saroja fame) who made Soundarya to divert all the funds borrowed for ‘Sultan’ flow into ‘Goa’ and the movie bombed high time.
